The job role I've been given for this production is costume/prop assistant manager the responsibilities of which are to help with the acquirement of props/ costumes during the production planning process through means of hiring, borrowing, or purchase of the props or costume to the given budget the assistants report directly to the costume/props manager, whose job during the process is to liase with the artistic director and the stage manager to ensure any props/costumes are sourced before show date, the prop/costume assistant managers may also be required to alter or help in the construction/alteration of said articles or in the very least oversee the alterations/construction to ensure the prop/costume fits in with the artist directors vision and is also practical/robust enough to last the duration of the performance period.
during the performance period it would the costume/prop assistant managers job to help manage the prop tables and help with quick changes to ensure the fluidity in the running of the show, the assistant managers may also be in charge of any repairs or alterations to the props or costumes during the performance duration.
after the performance period it would also be the responsibility of the prop/ costume assistant manager to ensure the safe return of any of the borrowed/ rented articles(prop or costume)to their original sources.
